Unlocking a World of Insight

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is one of the world’s largest engineering institutions, with over 160,000 members across 127 countries. To reflect the increasingly diverse nature of these sectors in the 21st century, it is also the most multidisciplinary, working to engineer a better world by inspiring, informing and influencing members through resources, events and personal development. 

Needless to say, having IET members in your team is highly beneficial, so we’re very pleased that EC&I Designer Stuart Martinson and Controls Engineer Paul Foy have recently gained membership. With OSL already closely connected to the IChemE and increasing its activity through the IMechE, a larger involvement with the IET is a major step in the right direction. The IET’s mission is to inspire, inform and influence by providing a rich portfolio of products and services designed to meet the needs of its members at every career stage. As members, Stuart and Paul now have access to a global knowledge-sharing network for engineering and technology professionals. As well as tools, advice and access to many decades of shared experience, membership also means that OSL as a company will gain a greater insight into up-to-the-minute developments in the engineering and energy sectors, as well as representation at IET events.

Operations Manager Neil Barnard said: “With the IET relationship now in place, we are delighted that every engineer in OSL can belong to an institution to which we are affiliated and have accredited development schemes to support their drive to become chartered engineers. This is an excellent move for the company as a whole and for Stuart and Paul individually.
