Applying an Arts Degree to the Energy Sector

Following the happy news of Sarah Weldon moving into her new role of Proposals Coordinator, in the Business Development team, we required someone with excellent organisational expertise to take on the position of Administrator. Having considered many excellent applications, we’re delighted to introduce you to Judith Moore, who now welcomes visitors to OSL House and is the friendly voice you will hear when contacting us by phone.

Judith has a rich and varied employment history. Graduating with a degree in English and History, followed by a PGCE with a literary specialism, her previous profession as an Adult Education Tutor with North Lincolnshire Council required patience, understanding and highly polished interpersonal skills, helping people to release their potential and achieve goals. This was succeeded by a role at a drilling company in Scunthorpe, putting her administrative dexterity to full effect. It was here that she met her partner, who was already based in Hull.

Originally from Carlisle, Judith loved visiting Hull, especially for long walks around West Park and Queen’s Gardens. In January 2016 she relocated to the city, commuting to her job in Scunthorpe and an environment that perfectly set her up for a place at OSL.

Judith explains the motivation behind her application: “My day-to-day operations included processing orders, managing timesheets, responding to enquiries and keeping the company’s administrative system running smoothly. When I saw the job advertised at OSL, I leapt at the chance.”

Ready for a the new challenge, Judith found integrating into the OSL company culture a very smooth process and is now in full swing as our Administrator. Outside of office hours, she relishes the opportunity to take long walks and runs along the city’s riverside, as well as around the nearby historic town of Beverley. Always eager to take part in sponsored events the likes of the Great North Run, Great Cumberland Run and various 10K races, we expect it won’t be long before Judith is putting her fitness to the test in aid of a worthy cause.
