MODIFICACIONES A INSTALACIONES DE VALORACIÓN CARBONÍFERAS (CAFM): ESTUDIO CONCEPTUAL, FEED E INGENIERÍA DE DETALLE

  • Cliente: Perenco
  • Ubicación: Sur del Mar del Norte, Reino Unido

BACKGROUND

Installation of gas process and metering facilities were required on two Southern North Sea offshore platforms to facilitate the production of a new appraisal well.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

OSL's work scope included: initial screening studies, FEED, detailed design, procurement, commissioning management and maintenance system update.

The capability of the facility to accommodate the range of fluid compositions and wellhead conditions during the appraisal programme was assessed. A wide range of scenarios were assessed to determine breakpoints in design & cost to ensure that all eventualities were taken into consideration.

Process design works included preparation of all P&ID's, equipment list, line list, valve data sheets, control philosophy review, HAZOP review, etc. The process scheme for the topside systems was developed, in line with the overall project drilling schedule. It was engineered using dynamic modelling of the transient flow from the well during start up.

Laser survey techniques were employed in piping preparations included for all process and utilities systems, which ensured clash free designs.

KEY ASPECTS OF DELIVERY

Structural design included an analysis of existing steelwork and a new cantilevered platform extension. The key aspects of the delivery were the following:

  • Forming of a multi-discipline, dedicated team with relevant experience of this type of project.
  • Integrated project services & commissioning management.
  • Lump sum delivery of design and procurement.

CLEVER THINKING

Close engagement with the Client’s operations and construction personnel from the commencement of FEED through to the generation of work packs hence avoiding disruptive late changes to the design

BENEFITS TO CLIENT

  • Minimal modifications required with predictable engineering cost outcomes.
  • Completion in line with the tight drilling schedule.
